Sketching a Landscape is Harder Than You Think.

Trust me. It is.

The original picture of my sketch.

The original picture of my partner's sketch.
See us working at the left side?

Both of us working!

My sketch of favela houses with forest surrounding it.

My partner's sketch of a concrete jungle.
As you can see above, our sketch is not THAT accurate. We first picked a partner, then we went and took the picture that we were given. We wrote down all the words that describe the picture. After that, when we thought of everything, we went back to our partners and described to them what our picture looks like. Then we switched. Mine wasn't that bad, it was just mirrored :P The horizontal line should be the other way round (I blame it on my partner, his describing was... horrible. :P Just kidding). In this activity, we used a lot of active listening, which is crucial in this task, we needed to listen carefully to what our partner is saying and put it on paper. I used a variety of thinking skills in this activity, for example, I used Enquiry when asking my partner in detail, Information Processing when sorting the description of the picture, Reasoning when explaining my thoughts, Evaluation when having confidence in my judgements and Creativity applying imagination to what the picture would look like.

My drawing was not extremely accurate, it was the OTHER WAY ROUND! My partner's was... not bad. I found it quite easy to describe the picture because it is in front of you and you can state the key features. I found it easier to describe because listening was hard because you had to imagine the place, and put it all on paper. This can help develop my learning because it can improve our thinking skills, plus drawing and listening skills. I would describe more into detail, and tell my partner to slow down next time! :P
